May 2006 - Getting Ready for Baby

Uh-Oh, Here we Go!

In February, Toby took a look at the "+" on the EPT and asks, "Does this means what I think it means?" After reading both the English and the French instructions on the package insert and taking a second test, the news finally sank in.

Here's a dashing shot of the little squirt in utero, back around 13 weeks. Now, in mid- May, we are at 18 weeks and finally past the horrors of first trimester nausea. The baby is due mid-October. Hooray!

A Visit from Grandpa

Grandpa Bill and the baby seem to get along just fine.

Bill's housewarming gift was to build a new deck out back!  To see more shots of the deck in progress, visit where we are

We hiked to Inspiration Point twice to catch the sunset.

One of Bill's famous Family Silhouette shots of the parents-to-be.

A Woozy Honeymoon

In March, we took a belated honeymoon cruise to Mexico. Here we are looking glamorous, as was required by the ship's dress code. For Shannon, this was a rare moment of smiling between bouts of morning sickness and sea sickness.

Our behemoth of a boat, the Sapphire Princess.

Crushing Toby at Yahtzee provided a good distraction from the roiling seas and a roiling stomach.

The rocks at Cabo san Lucas.

A cliff diver in Mazatlan. Toby thought about trying it, but sadly, the tour bus only stopped long enough for a photo op.

In Cabo, Toby managed to find someone crabbier than Shannon.

Under the jungle canopy near Puerto Vallarta, we relished having our feet on solid ground.

This 'n That

In our camp dining hall, we just unveiled the latest Toby-inspired improvement. The huge YMCA triangle hangs above the stone fireplace. Another similar triangle was also just hung on the side of the maintenance shed at the entrance to camp.

Jackson Lake, just across the road from our camp, is starting to green up now that spring has sprung.

Toby Jordan! Over Easter weekend, we hung out with Toby's relatives down in La Jolla. The intrepid baller received a much-needed dose of urban court time.
